Games for Indians and Pilgrims
By Chapman and Eric
Pilgrim boys liked to play popguns, tag, and Blindman’s Buff. Girls and boys liked London Bridge is falling down. Some Indian games were hawk fighting, and Chunky. To play Blindman’s Buff you need a blindfold to tie around one person’s head. Then you ran and if they got you would be the blind man. Some Indian games were arrow contests, ball, racing horseback and on foot. A few Pilgrim games are jump rope, chess, and hoop roll. Wampanoags did winter games too. One is Snow Stick. To play Snow Stick you need a stick, water, and a log to make your track. Both Wampanoags and Pilgrims liked stories on long winter nights. Pilgrims liked Hide and seek.
